ok so now my hay adventure is done till next october i figured out (i think) why i was having issues. the first is the hay was too short. and also too dry
the too short idea is from all the rest that was longer came out very nice. I think all the work i've been doing to this old 214t has made the job go alot smoother. only real issue on the baler is the inboard bill hook doesn't let the knot go sometimes. went 2 years without a missed knot. 7 knots in 188 bales the other day and about 10 in 155 today. any ideas why it hangs up?

Are the bales banana shaped? If so adjust needed forks. Sounds like the weight is right, moisture shouldn't be a problem if its been down that long. Sure is slippery hay though. We used to have trouble with meadow hay with a 214. If your getting a tight straight bale its the nature of the beast. 2 twine bales are a pain.
Stay with it you'll win in the end.
