I have a new to me 555xl silage baler, bought in winter. First time out, had 8 acres of wheat on ground for two days, raked up with v rake. Baler starts in then intake clogs(major). Cut and pull, all rollers are working, intake, drum. Belts are good, pickup teeth are retracting where they should. Have tried slow, super fast, windrow to one side, nothing. It makes a tight roll but will not get big enough to get up on drum roller. Have only tried green hay, no dry hay yet. Has anyone had experience with this? Any and all help would be appreciated.

What are you running for a tractor? Can you keep the pto rpm's up? It takes a lot of power to bale silage, not sure about a Vermeer but my Kuhn 4x5 recommends almost 90 pto hp with knives in.

You need to advance the pickup timing Call me at Haytools 423-207-1349 and I'll tell you how to adjust the timing. The bale will bale haylage all day long just an adjustment.
