Yeah thats what I did and sorry for the confusion I butted in anyway where I see now you were attempting to point out features some folks dont know till its too late.
I have plastic case Huskys in the past for conversation and fwtw never had a bit of trouble with them a 345e was the predecessor to my NE346 as my trim saw it just wasn't enough power to more than trim.
fwtw for the extra $50 I would still spring for the 346 over the very capable 353. The 346 old and new versions are one heck of a little saw imho.
My 372 sits 90% time now hate to say it but I pick the 346 up its a pure joy I built an L bracket mounted under the bar that serves as a kick stand to keep the little tipper upright.
No problem CD. That's what i figured happened. Here, there is a $100 difference between the two saws. ($400 and $500) The 346 screams like a banshee in a bear trap but the 353 is not far behind and a more all around saw imo. I use the 372 for bucking and the seldom seen 30" tree fall. My go to saw has been the 257-357 duo as if you have 2 different bar lengths you gotta have 2 saws right? I limb with the 346 but I find the 353 very capable and bring it along more often . I recently had a 385 with a 28" bar for stumping. It has more torque than the 372 but it was only a bit more powerful than the 372. My wife states I can only own five chainsaws at a time. She has no limit to what I can buy to try out as long as I sell anything beyond 5 saws after my curiosity is peaked. She also has no idea on what these things can cost which fits in nicely. Some call this an addiction....the nerve of some people!
