Tractor
Scott's with a blown Kohler motor
Finally decided the best tractor for my needs is the GTH26V52LS with the fabricated deck and Kawasaki 26HP motor.....it does make me a bit nervous going with the "consumerized" Kawasaki version (FR) and wish they'd used the FD, FH, FH KAI, FX or the FS.....other than that, seems like a great tractor.....anyone have any longer-term feedback on how well this model stands up to heavy mowing & implement use? I sure hope the FR series isn't as poor a substitute as the GC is for the Honda line.....I only go Honda GX....

Almost, Have GTH27V48LS with the B&S 27 hp--All my research show this B&S to be a Pro series and not ESL--Bought this as I didn't want the 52" deck.
#1. CHECK !!! fuel line--if installed wrong, you can see it hanging down on left side of tractor under the seat area--Had 1 hr. on mine and line pinched when raising deck and ruptured line leaking gasoline (4 gal) ON MY LAWN.
This is a dangerous flaw--Husq had a recall in 2010 for same problem--They never fixed it--Fuel line hose not only too long, but they never wire tied it out of harms way.NOTE: Husq had not only in 2010, BUT recalled 174,000 in 2006,
and also in 2001.(Perhaps they also sell fire fighting equip)--
#2. With deck raised up all the way (which isn't much), top of pully guard hits bottom of seating area deck and gouges pully cover.
#3. Been stuck for times in 16 hrs. in low ditch area by road--Once the deck digs in, you go nowhere, as with one tire off the ground, the other wheel does not engage-No locking diff--No posi tracton--have your wife pull YOUR
brand new tractor (that YOU just had to have) out of the ditch with YOUR SUV and see how that goes over.

Soul searched for two years before buying another Deere or this--Hope I did the right thing--2 deeres in 32 years, same lot, never stuck.!!
Husq does cut nicely and pleanty of power,Would prefer hand choke vs this auto style with B&S electronic fuel management system--
Husq customer service did not want to hear about my fire hazard problem with the fuel line (didn't even smell the gas as it was pouring out), but have a good dealer in S&D Outdoor Sports, Hilton,NY and they took care of my problems.
#4. Aluminum gas pedal is a joke--Hard on the top of your shoes when depressing the reverse pedal & the flimsy little rubber gromets pop out and are lost forever--Unable to find a rubber replacement pedal.
Do yourself a favor -- Buy at Tractor Supply for $25 a "hitchin post" hitch--
Keeps from markig up back tow panel and if something lets loose, will help miss the exposed part of the gas tank protruding out from under the seat.3
Good Luck, Neil B

You better trade back up to a Deere. You deserve the best. ;)

I bought exactly the same tractor that you have there, last March, i.e. 9 months ago.

I'm pretty much pleased with it - awesome power! I've mowed grass way over my head, cut brush, small trees... nothing seems to be able to stop it. I also use it to pull a little 4'x 8' trailer around the place and load it down with tree limbs, etc. to burn. I don't know how much a trailer loaded with dirt or limbs weighs, but the little Husky doesn't even act like it's back there.

It's much louder than my old Husqvarna R155 Rider with a 15 hp Kohler, and doesn't cut quite a nicely as the Rider. But then, it's not intended to be just a mower either. I went with the Husqvarna based on the quality of my Rider 155. >2,000 hours run time, 11 years, and no problems. I do, however, probably OVER maintain my equipment.

You'll love that fabricated deck. Nothing's going to punch a hole in that, nor break out a chunk. I did add wheel weights to the back to help with mowing 20 degree plus slopes. And a canopy so the wife would be comfortable while mowing :))))

On the negative side, I don't like having to press the reverse pedal down so hard. A little taller nubby pedal would have been better. That's something that even I can change though, if it gets to be a nuisance.

But, in response to the comments about buying 'green', or something else, I COULD HAVE - I shopped all brands. Nothing came close for the price for the same quality of garden tractor. So, I stuck the extra 'green' back in my pocket and am very pleased with 'orange'.

My colleague paid 4k for his simplicity and has had it in the shop for blown headgasket, auto lift on the mower deck 4 times, 4wheel drive tsb(something about having a kit installed), and steering wheel issues. Not what they used to be aI suppose?

Great machine as far as features-almost completely automatic.
