I really can't fault your logic . New technology does have faults at times . But having said that , my 562 has been faultless ,and I'm expecting the 550 to follow in its footsteps . If they both fail , I'll have learned a lesson in becoming a test pilot for Husq. :)

I understand that and i accept it I just wanted a 346xp before it was gone. Im working on a two or three saw plan. the 562xp is def. in the running for some of the large wood i process. I have also thought about the 357 and the 372. I think the 562 is the replacment for the 357. Its good to hear that you are well pleased with you 562.
I think I would be all for the auto tune if they would give you the diagnostic software to go with it. Does any one have the software?

The 562 did replace the 357. And I have to say, Husky got this one right. I really like the 357 and will not get rid of it, but the 562 has more power, cuts faster and is a lot smoother.

The 372 is a great saw, but the 562 is smaller, lighter and is very close with power.

Now I haven't owned a 562 (yet?), but I did get to try one out cutting wood. I have to agree the 562 is VERY close in power, in a nice compact package.

I too love my 346, but the great reviews on the 550 have got me thinking about an equipment update. :)

Well, I spent some more time with the 550 today . I put a bit more aggressive chain on it as opposed to the low kick back that came on it . She just chugged along as was expected . I also ordered the diagnostic tool for the AT saws . Not cheap , but it may come in handy .

So whats the deal with the diagnostic tool for the new autotunes? Can you make any adjustments like max rpm? I know you can test the fuel solenoids, get runtimes and "reset" the computer so it will re-learn if you do any mods, but what else can it do, what data can you pull form the computer and is it necessary for routine maintenance?

Im really liking the 550, but not if a $250 diag tool is required for ongoing maintenance or minor mods.
