Tractor
Kubota Grand L 5740, loaded R1's w/640 lbs cast weight, 854 loader
and I'm not sure how to do it.

The cylinder is what rolls my new ford two bottom plow over.
(hah, new to me, built in 1956 or so)

I cleaned out the cylinder and replaced the hoses and hooked it up and pulled the lever.

WHAM!!!!
It was violent!!!!! Turned over in about 1/2 a second. Scared the crap out of me.
Broke a piece of linkage.

I've heard of putting an orifice somewhere is the lines but I need to know how and where. Are fittings available that are already restricted. Is it just gonna make my tractor bypass. Does that hurt anything?
I would like this thing to take about 3 to 5 seconds to roll over and I can do that by feathering the controls but that's a pain in the patoot.

Suggestions???
Has anyone "actually" done this???

Sounds like you found the answer.. You can get many orifice parts at TSC.. I saw some there on there shelf.. not sure if they were pipe, ORB, or JIC.. but you can check. I'll bet your stuff is pipe for that old cyl.. right?

What size hoses did you use? Downsize them to car brake hose diameter. You can buy an oriface restrictor to cut down the flow or add a bypass.

I replaced the hoses with the same size that were on it when I got it, 3/8 inch I think.
They cost me $53 so I'm gonna keep them and just restrict the flow.

I've been looking at restricted connector this morning.

Should be easy to get what I want.

Thanks

Well whaddaya know.
Problem solved. Went down to the Deere store at lunch and bought a restrictor.

1/2 inch male and female pipe threads. Itty bitty hole thru the middle. $4.45
easy enough.
