Sounds like it could be as simple as a linkage adjustment, or a cam follower pin/cam surface needing attention.
I suggest you get the factor service manual before you snatch the lift cover off that beast. soundguy |

Uh.. CNH?.. you know 'factory'.. etc. They are stuck with the legacy ford parts support. IE.. I'd go to achevy dealer to get a factory service manual on a chevy truck.. so why not go to a CNH dealer to get a factory service manual on a ford??
