While I think you "could" do the job with the wheel in place, it will be MUCH easier to get it out of the way. On my 4110, there was an access panel in the fender behind the wheel to get to the SCV...having the wheel in place would have been self-induced torture! Just take it off and don't worry about it

Any thoughts on what the rear wheel and tire of a 4200 weighs? I have R4's and the rear tire is about 36" in diameter. The tires are NOT filled and I do NOT have wheel weights either.

My ballpark guess is 125lbs or so...very manageable using the method I described earlier. Even filled tires are easily managed using that method.
