Red face Cylinder will go up but not down

I bought a Parker Rock box with a single hose cylinder. The box will go up but will only come down half way. If someone stands in the box, and jumps up and down while I'm operate the lever, it will eventually come down. What's Wrong!!!!

I'm hydraulphobic. So please talk slow

Thanks in advance

I don't pretend to know the answer but... my 10' rear cutter has a single hose cylinder on it... it ALSO has some kind of air bleeder on the other end of it, does your cylinder have some kind of air bleeder?

Seems to me, if the opposite end is sealed then you've got a pressure (or vacume?) issue where you can't relieve it?

If you Do have the air bleeder thing on the opposite end, I'd wonder if it's plugged? If it's not plugged then I'd wonder if your rock box is simply not heavy enough to force it to go down? (I'm not familar with the Parker Rock Box)

Just seems to me that something isn't letting go of the pressure to allow it to fall.

Loosen/open the lowering speed valve adjustment for your 3pt hitch? On my Kioti it's under the seat at foot level & gets bumped closed on occasion -same symptoms. MikeD74T
