Kubota L2800
Just finished up with my L2800 Kubota TNT installation. The cylinders are from Carter and Carter, joystick from Surplus Hydraulics, fittings and hoses from a local hydraulic shop. About $1250 all total vs $1900 from my dealer for an aftermarket install. Works great and can not imagine doing without it after just a couple of days.

I cut the bracket above the 3pt control where the Draft Control would go and put the joystick right there. I decided not go put quick disconnects in at this time and may add that later if needed. The local hydraulic shop ran 3/8" hose from the port shown in the first thumbnail to the valve, then 1/4" lines to each cylinder.

Why did you run the 90* the way you did on both the cylinders? It looks like you could have taken the loops out of the hoses if you would have turned them about 180*.

That Joystick looks pretty close to the seat- no problem moving it sideways?

Nice job mounting it and all.

Joystick does fine where it is and has its full range of movement which is not a whole lot.

The hoes were run the way they were to allow full range of movement without kinking. Actually, the local hydraulic shop ran them that way. We discuss it and they tried moving everything back and forth and decided to do it that way.

That is a very neat and tidy install;) I love the way the joystick is mounted.

Would you happen to have the part-no and where you got that joystick? I'd like to look in to that.

Thanks-

Certainly, Surplus Center Hydraulics Part number 9-7401, 2 spool, 10 gpm, compact joystick. Also when I was ordering my cylinders from Carter and Carter I asked about their joystick. They said they would have to sell me the same thing for more and to go to the Surplus Center and get this one. Now that was very professional of them. C&C must be a top notch outfit.

Looks great- Is the float on the front/back, and your top-link then?

Not sure I understand the question. When I want the box blade to float I push the 3pt lever all the way down as usual. The top link cylinder is a double piloted check valve type and does not move at all when set. Which prevents hydraulic creep.

I do have the A side of the valve controlling the top link, but like I said the cylinder will not move when set.

One of the spools on the joystick valve has a "float" detent-just like your FEL does...He is asking what cylinder have hooked to that spool-the TOP or the TILT?

The top cylinder does. Y'all can tell how much I know about hydraulics. lol. I know what a two spool valve is and I can recognize hydraulic cylinders almost every time, and that's it.

That is why I hang around here and ask questions.

I just want to clarify something for you and Zephrant that I just thought about:

Even though you have the float spool, your cylinder will not float because of the POCV (Pilot Operated Check Valve) that comes on the CCM cylinders. The cylinder will only move when the POCV see's pressure on the feed lines.

Yep, what he said. My words exactly. I was just fixin to say that.

Thanks, that was the information I was looking for. Not sure I'd need the top link to float, but was thinking it might be handy for a mower. But I was also wondering if it wouldn't float too slow (be too restrictive) to be useful that way too.

I have plans to get a flail mower some day, but I think I'd just run it with the 3PH in float-down mode.

I do like that Joystick- I think that plus the solenoid-selector might fulfill all my current desires for hydraulic ports.

Did you use any restrictors to slow down the movement on the tilt?

Ken- Would you recommend the cylinder with the check-valve on a CUT or not? The only time I can see it maybe being useful is if I'm using a splitter or something like it on the 3PH.

No restrictors to slow anything down. Just 1/4" hose from the valve to the cylinders. Works nice and at the correct speed you need.

I would recommend it. It will NOT leak down or change position if you do not want it to. Period. And I think the price of them is only $20 or $30 more than others are selling regular cylinders for.

Do a search for "ccm" and "pocv" for lots of testimonials...

That's the same control valve I ordered a while back and looking to mount it in roughly the same spot on my B7800 ( I have a couple other spot in mind but I'll start there). Thanks for the pic's. I've been going crazy trying to fiqure out plumbing and set-up for months. Now if winter would give me a break so I can get started.

The plumbing is simple after you see it done. I am not even going to say how much the local hydraulic shop charged for it, but I had no choice since I am not knowledgeable of all things hydraulic. If you need any more pictures to be able to do it yourself and avoid shop cost just let me know.

What I especially like is paying what I did for the plumbing and looking at all the fittings chat have "China" stamped in them.

Just a thought (or question) about float. Wouldn't you still get much the same effect from the lift arms floating if 3 pt is set so, even if CCM Hyd 3rd link is rigid since it always is with a non-hyd. top link?

100% correct.
