Question add 3rd function to L3400

I just bought a kubota L3400 and now want to add a 3rd function to the fel for a bucket grapel. Dealer wants $800.00, seems really high.I know it isnt hard. Any advice ?

Willie
I am taking delivery of my new L3400 today. Won't be doing the grapple right away but someday, so I will be watching your thread and progress. Keep us informed. What all was included for $800. If it is just a valve and a couple hoses I agree, sounds high. I have not checked if the loader valve is power beyond, will know tonight.

I have no idea what you have in mind for a design, but I'll offer that if you do it yourself you'll have maybe $500 in hard parts -- valve, fittings, hoses, brackets etc. Then there's your time --- so, is your time worth $300 to you?

The $800 is only for the installed dirverter valve and hoses Dosnt include transport to and from dealer. I dont have a trailor so I have the dealer come get it. Plus if I can save a couple hundred bucks, YOU BETCH YA. Plus I like to tinker,Is the valve the dealer will install the best, Ive heard stories of leaks ? Dont want to reinvent the wheel Just get the most bang for the buck.

I added a grapple control to my l3400. I went with electric over hydraulics.
I installed a marine switch on the dash.
I ordered the wrong valve because I ordered an open center valve. We have open center system, you need a tandem center valve

It uses a D03 base, here is the link.
Northman Fluid Power Hydraulic Directional Control Valve 19.8 GPM, 4500 PSI, 3-Position, Double Solenoid, Tandem Center Spool, 12 Volt DC Solenoids, Model# SWH-G03-C6-D12-10 | Power Solenoid | Northern Tool + Equipment

Here is a link to grapple project on a L3400.

I pulled from the power beyond fitting to a loop at the back of tractor for backhoe,to my D03 Block, then it returns back to the main hydraulic block underneath the brake area, from there it feeds 3 point hitch internally in the tractor.

I don't have power beyond so I'll have to do some plumbing research. Still haven't found the do3 base. The picks really help, THANKS.
