Hydaulics on a John Deere 790
Does anyone have any experience with the add on hydraulic outlet..I recently bought this 790 and would like to use an old JD no. 5 sickle mower with it..The Tractor has the add on oultlet but no controls. If anyone has converted an old sickle mower to a hydraulic cylinder I could use some help. Thanks

Welcome to TBN Bill

I do not believe JD offers a rear remote kit, but they do however offer a Power Beyond kit for operating a backhoe-and with that you can plumb in a valve with as many spools as you need to operate your mower or anything else. Approx. cost will be about $500.

Which hydraulic outlet are you talking about?
1. The optional hydraulic Selective Control Valve (B) in 1st pic along with hydraulic outlets (A) in 2nd pic.
OR
2. The Power Beyond kit which is the outlets and hose in the black sleeve on the rear of the tractor in the 3rd picture.Last edited by dirt ditch; 07-17-2010 at 09:55 AM.

If you are talking about the Power Beyond then here is a good thread where other 790 owners have covered that topic quite well.
