Alright...I'm getting the dual rear remotes installed on my new JD 3038...

I'm also looking at the Power Beyond Kit to run a log splitter, I had thought about running the log splitter from a pump on the pto, but forgot that if there was no one ont he seat, then the pto won't run!!! LOL!

Anyhow...will a PB kit with the 3038 be enough to run a log splitter?

What determines the force for a log splitter, the GPM or the PSI? or a combination of the both?

any help would be great! My tractor says the implement only has a hydraulic flow of 5.3 GPM, will this be ok??

The pressure and the diameter of the cylinder, work together to give the force. Increase either one, and the force increases. The GPM determines the time for extension and retraction.

3 in at 2500 = 17,671 = 8
4 in at 3000 = 37,699 = 18
6 in at 3000 = 84,823 = 42

It may be a touch slow...but it will operate it fine and have plenty of power. There may be a way to defeat the safety switch for off-seat operation also...on my 4110 I simply pull the switch up after raising the seat, most JD models have tat ability somehow-check your manual.

Seems like the formula would be Area (in sq in) times pounds per sq in.

3" dia. cylinder = (PI X (1.5 squared)) X 2500
