Thanks, you were right when you said to check the gland. Once i knew the gland was the problem the crack seemed to pop right out at me. I guess my first impression of it was just a scratch made by the rod. But NO, it was a crack. Thanks again.

I installed the new gland on saturday and it fixed my problem.
