Any suggestions on how to prevent that?? Perhaps another 'secret switch' in the maintained 12V circuit that I could turn off except when the constant flow is needed?

Any other ideas?

Following this thread with some interest....I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish.....can you post a detailed explanation/drawing.,.,..

Once you start getting electric on off switches involved you might even finish up with some relays and timers....LOL....would be cool to see all cards on the table at the same time.....

Timers and relays!!! That's to much for me!! I looked into proportional control a long while back.... I've settled on this.

What I'm aiming to do is have an extra circuit go to the front of my loader for grapple, angling blade, etc. I'm doing this with a solenoid EH system that taps into my PB. I'm going to add 1 hyd circuit to the front of the loader, and 3 to the back of my tractor (for Top 'n Tilt plus a spare). These are all going to be controlled by rocker switches on grips. There'll be a grip on the 3pt lever that will control all the rear hyd circuits via 3 rocker switches, and a grip on the loader control lever with two rockers for the front circuit. One rocker will be the momentary switch for grapple/blade work, and the other will be a maintained rocker for hyd motor work - ie weedwacker.

All of these new hyd circuits will have flow control valves on them to help with touchy button syndrome.

What this thread is about is how I can make the front circuit stay ON, either forward or backward, to run a small motor, like for copndoc3's weedwacker.

So far what I'm thinking is wiring the ON/OFF/ON in parallel with the (ON)/OFF/(ON) so that when needed I can click on the motor with the ON/OFF/ON, I suppose rendering the (ON)/OFF/(ON) useless for that time - I think...

I'm not sure how to draw it out with any degree of professional appearance. I hope my explanation makes it somewhat clear.

I'm having the hyd circuits put on at a hyd shop. They're supplying the valving and manifolds. I'm supplying the grips and switches through Otto/Interior Electronics. I've purchased a PB kit from JD, as well as the hard 3rd loader line kit. I'd like to have a go at doing it myself, but I don't have a great shop to work in right now, I'm going to be busy getting my real job going in Regina, and the snow is coming!!!..... a week without snow removal could be bad for my relationship....

So this is a MOMENTARY switch, and you want the function (motor) to stay on?? How do you want to interrupt/turn off, the function (motor)??

To clarify the definitions of the rocker switches..."(on)" is momentary
and "on" is steady?? or is it the opposite??

Would also be interesting to see the switches (link?) you intend to use.

It's 2 switches, one momentary for the grapple, etc, and one maintained, for the motor uses - controlling the same valve & hyd circuit.

The motor will the turned off then the maintained switch is centered. In my plan, the motor will also be actuated if the momentary switch is depressed.

Yes (ON) is momentary - anything in brackets is momentary. I'm not sure if that's standard nomenclature or just what Otto uses.

Here are the switches:

Deprecated Browser Error - just click on it, I don't know what a Deprecated Browser Error is....

Learning the codes to make your own switch was like learning another language. Otto offers so many choices!!!

I'm going with the short paddled rocker with green LEDs that are always on (independent) for the momentary switches - just to look pretty. I am going with a non-paddled switch with DEPENDENT red LEDs for the maintained switch to draw attention when it's on to assist with not inadvertently leaving it on if nothing is attached.

I can't get the legends that I'd like on the K1 switches, but if that's the biggest problem I have, I'll live with it.

Yeah, that's what I would do. You won't use it often so it does not need to be on the grip.

True. I did think of using a full/JD sized switch on the fender or dash, it would just be more of a wiring PITA, that's all.

Maybe I'll switch to a K5 style switch and do that.

I'm worried about accidentally bumping the switch and activating it, so....

I'm going to put a small, flat, dependent red LED illuminated rocker just above the throttle lever on my dash. There's no way that it'll be bumped there.

Good plan.
