John Deere 10A Backhoe Bucket Cylinder

Hi,

The cylinder that extends/retracts the bucket on my JD 10A backhoe died. I need to replace it, but can't the specs for it anywhere.

JD wants $1200 for the cylinder; I've found cylinders that I think are similar and they go for about $300-$400.

Anyone know the specs for that cylinder? or do I have to guesstimate and take a chance?

How did it "die"? Why can't it be rebuilt/resealed?

Have you checked the owner's manual for specs? The manual for my 640 loader give the specs for the cylinders

If all else fails , go measure the cyl.
