1700 ford
Please help! I am looking for the location of the hydraulic fluid
screen/filter. I was told it is under the tractor seat and am still
unable to locate it. I have a book but all it shows is a dot on the
diagram.

Thanks for the reply but I was unable to connect to the right place in
the link. I am taking the control to be rebuilt tomorrow. Someone told
me that the screen cleaning most of the time did not help the jerking
bucket syndrome! We will see what happens.

Thanks Again

Follow the suction (larger) tube from the pump back to the RH side of the rear axle center section. Drain the oil and remove the tube and the three bolt flange fitting the tube attaches to. The screen is connected to the flange and extends into the rear axle housing. Don't bother removing or disassembling your loader control valve until you clean the screen. Whoever told you jerky loader operation is unrelated to a plugged screen doesn't know what they are talking about. A dirty screen is second only to low oil level as the primary cause for your symptoms.

Thanks for the info. I will try to do this tomorrow. I have owned this tractor for about 30 years and have had very little trouble with it. It is a great
tractor. I hope for the best in cleaning this screen.

Thanks
