If the nut has come off and the threads are still good, clean it up and use Loctite RED or blue on the nut, and re-tighten or torque it down.

Thanks all for the trouble shooting. I will need to take the cylinders apart to check the nuts on the end. I will keep you posted and again, thanks much for the quick help with this.

You might be taking apart a good cyl for nothing if you don't resolve it as to which cyl.

Some people may suggest to take both cyl apart to check, but I say why open up and fix something that ain't broke.

If the cyl are old and have some wear on them, then I can see doing both cyl.

Any idea what is causing this.

If your still watching JJ, could that be only one cylinder is blown, therefore the one good cylinder isn't holding, while the bad cylinder is letting all the fluid blow by without building any pressure to dump/curl in both cylinders?
Yes, that is exactly what happens. The significant internal leak virtually equalizes the pressure on both sides of both cyls since they are in //. ... So the cyls want to extend.

Sounds like you were back-blading with the laoder, angled down and backing up - that can bend one of those hyd cylinders, and so it would bypass hyd fluid because the bent rod can't move.

Just another possibility, should be able to see a bent rod but sometimes they hide the bend right as its entering the cylinder....
