New Holland FEL cylinder
Sirs...I have a 2005 TC33DA with a 15LA loader on it. The unit has 290 hours on it...and is kept in near mint condition. I recently noticed a slight leak in the upper bucket tilting cylinder (I think its the rod seal). I looked up the NH part, and it says there is an "old" style, and a "new" style cylinder. Apparently you cant get parts for the old style, and you can only get the seal kit (which is fine with me) for the new style. I believe I have the old style, and the dealer says I have to BUY THE COMPLETE NEW STYLE CYLINDER !!!!!
Will the rebuild kit from the new style (or some of it) work on the old style ? Any other ideas ? Thanks for your help.
On another note...the chrome seems to be flaking near the end of that rod. I dont think it goes up into the seal ( I'm hoping thats not what caused the leak). Anyway to fix that ?

Re: New Holland FEL cylinder
Sounds like the dealer does not want to carry the parts to service the older cylinders.
You should be able to determine if the flaking chome on the rod is going into the seal by curling the bucket all the way back. Looks like it would. That may have caused your leak.
Find a hydraulic shop that repairs cylinders. They should be able to obtain correct seal. They should also be able to advise you on the rod. Rechrome, replace, or new cylinder. Which would be the best way to repair.John Deere 2030 JD 245SL Loader
