The line from the external pupm has a very small leak and the wet hose smokes it gets so hot, Any sugesstions?

Are you talking about a PTO pump.

What kind of valve do you have?

You may be in the relief mode full time.

I see now.

You are operating a single action cyl.

You should get rid of all those water pipe fittings and use hyd fittings.

Most hyd pumps are external, and I thought this was an additional pump.

Is the SA cyl you are using working correctly?

Power up gravity down.

Do you have the fluid path corectly?

Pump to IN port, OUT port to tank, and one work port B to a SA cyl . Port A is plugged.
The port close to the relief valve is the IN port.

Put a hyd gage in the hyd system and check the pressure relief.

Is this correct for your tractor?

Hydraulics:
Type: Lift-All, transmission-driven pump
Pressure: 500 psi [34.5 bar] (early)
800 psi [55.2 bar] (late)
