Case 580CK Steering fluid replacement
I just recently bought a Case 580CK and the power steering fluid looks milky as if water had gotten into it. I would like to drain the system and replace the fluid this weekend. Does anyone know what would be the best way to drain the entire system? I've ordered a service manual but do not believe I will have it by the weekend. I appreciate any info anyone may have.
Thanks

Re: Case 580CK Steering fluid replacement
I have a 580B - you should be able to disconnect both hoses at the steering cylinder and drain most of the fluid into a bucket -
Then maybe find a rag or other way to seal an air hose around the filler tube on the pump and blow it down (probably messy) -
Then jack the front of the tractor up til the front wheels are clear, put the bucket under the steering cylinder (hoses still off) and manually push the tires to move steering from lock to lock (stroke the cylinder)
- Shouldn't be much left in the system after that... Steve
