Prince Restrictor Valve Size for Farmall H Loader

I'm trying to figure out what size orifice I should order on a prince restrictor valve for my farmall H loader. Currently there is no restrictors on the hydraulics and the bucket drops like a stone. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think that you are going to want anything any smaller than 1/4". Restrictors heat up the fluid and when you have them in a loader line, it gets used a lot and the fluid really gets heated up more than it should with constant use.

Just get an adjustable needle valve and turn the knob down until the hyd flow is about right for you.

Something like this.

You can get this valve in 1/2, or 3/8 in, and just adjust it as needed.

A needle restricts both ways. Get a flow control and it allows full flow [up direction] and adjustable restriction [down direction]. Obviously it will come down faster loaded but you should be able to get a happy medium with the adjustable flow control. CJ

This needle valve will control in one direction and unrestricted in the other direction.
