I recently purchased and installed a new NorTrac log splitter valve on my old log splitter. The motor will not start connected to the pump and I suspect that I have air in the system and need to bleed it but I'm not sure how to go about it. I also changed the hydraulic oil and filter when changing out the valve. I appreciate any instructions.

It's a nortrac wv-br01open center. I installed it per the diagram enclosed with the valve.

Thank you,

Joe

If you do have any air in the hyd system, it will self bleed as you use the machine.

With the pump output hose in a bucket, does the pump pump fluid with engine running?

It is hard to go wrong with the pump flow with the valve lever in neutral. There is an open path for the fluid to move. Pump output to IN port of valve, valve OUT port to return filter and to tank. Lever dictates which the cyl will move.
