I'm sure no matter what is used to seal threads on anything the trick is to keep it out of the fluid flow. For general information my new Kubota came with teflon tape in the warranty packet.
Really old post, but one recommendation for hydraulic thread sealant from a reliable source is Loctite 567 Thread Sealant. Purchased a tube from Amazon, but haven't had the opportunity to test it. I believe Amazon had the product in the tube version for around $8.00. A larger container/brush on was in the $40.00 range.I'm sure no matter what is used to seal threads on anything the trick is to keep it out of the fluid flow.
