I've read where some cheaper brands hydraulic fluids had issues..I picked up a couple of 10 litre jugs @ $20.00 cdn. each and saved myself a total of $48.00.. my G-174 BOLENS/ISEKI is not really too fussy what it drinks....ON SALE @ Princess Auto approx. a month ago....TGH (gear type hydraulic fluid/oil).....take care Ampa <> :)

Ampa - That looks like hydraulic fluid only. I kind of seem to remeber when I changed my Bolens that you should use a universal tractor fluid as the same oil does the transmission and rear end.

I know for sure that is what I use on my other tractors.

Hi Storm thanks for your concern..you had me a little worried....so I went down to the garage peeled off the ON SALE sticker to see what the whole lable read....and took another pic.. exactly the same stuff I drained out of my tractor except for the "Ugg" color plus I've used this tractor almost 4 years without any issues .... the new stuff is (Amber the color of honey)...ZOOM in for a closeup veiw and read what the lable says....Ampa <>
