Is there a wiring diagram under the hood of your tractor?

Regualtors can be found on ebay. Search for "Satoh regulator" or "Nippon regulator". I don't personally have experience with the OEM Nippon-Denso regulator replacements but they appear to be the mechanical-type that origianally came with tractors that use the "K" series of Mitsubishi engines. The solid-state version is about half the thickness of the mechnical so it's a little easier to handle/replace. I'd recommend the solid-state type over the mechanical but feel the mechanicals are still good and can actually be repaired easier than the solid-states in my opinion unless you have a lot of experience with electronics and can remove the coating that seals the electronic in place. Both are roughly the same price.

If you want all the details on the wiring I'd recommend getting the service manual. It also shows the schematics for the alternator, regulator, and starter which are helpful. Then you'll also get all the other service info you might need in the future. Parts lists and service manuals are a MUST in my opinion if you want to keep these tractors going into the future. I'm a bit surprised the manuals aren't readily available for free d/l on the net, but they are worth the purchase price from dealers anyway if they can help keep things running correctly.

The Bolens G174 is the same as an an Iseki TX2160/TX1500F - built in the same factory, same HP, gearbox, axles, diffs, pumps, linkage etc- the only major difference is some of the early series to maybe c.1981 Bolens use a K75 2cyl Mitsubishi engine whereas the later Iseki's use a KB3 3cyl Mitsubishi.

Attached is an extract from the parts book detailing the voltage regulator part number you seem to require, together with the wiring diagram.

Here's a list of parts suppliers in the USA which I have copied from other threads/sites -unfortunately as I'm in Australia (where I use only Iseki dealers as there are no Bolens supplies) I have no recent experience with suppliers in the USA:-
