What engine oil for Iseki 2160f?

As above, looking to do an oil and filter change shortly.

What grade should I use. Temperature range it is used in is 0-40C or 32-104f.

I use a product called Rotella T here in the states. Shell Rotella T 15W40 Motor Oil, 1 Gal - Walmart.com It is a 15w40 grade diesel motor oil, and the oil filter is a Napa 1064. In Australia Shell replied on a forum and said: 2nd Reply from Shell Australia:

For diesel engine performance Rimula X 15w-40 would be equivalent to Rotella T. However Rotella T in a universal oil, suitable for both spark and compression ignition engines, which Rimula X 15w-40 is not.

None of Shell Australia's high performance diesel oils (Rimula X 15w-40, Rimula Super, Rimula Ultra) are tested for spark ignition performance. As such we would not recommend using them in a motorcycle, regardless of whether they contain friction modifiers.

In Australia, Shell Rimula oils are used in heavy duty, 4 strokes diesel engine, while Shell Rotella oil are used in 2 stroke diesel engines. Therefore they are not comparable.

Rotella T is not a diesel engine oil, it is a universal engine oil and therefore will be suited to all types of engines. Shell Australia's high end diesel oils are diesel specific, and we strongly recommend that they are used for this purpose only.

Cheers, so 10w40 or 15w40?

My Iseki manual recommends SAE 10W-30 API service CD for all temp range ... never seen that grade so I use 15w-40 Castrol RX Super,
Have done over 900hrs with no problems so 10w40 or 15w40 should be ok, I would probably stay away from the latest enviro oils made for use with DPF filters

As usual Mitch's info is correct .. The only Shell Rotella here is DD for use in Detroit Deisel 2 strokes, Shell Rimula is our equivalent. However I have seen Shell Rotella T6 on e-bay that is independently imported from the US so looks like there is a market for it. I checked the on-line product guides from the major oil companies and for the TX2160f and Bolens G154 and most recommend a monograde 30 oil such as:

Penrite MONO TRUCK 30
Mono 30 is a mid-ash monograde engine oil for use in older Japanese four stroke engines and other engines used in off road applications.
Key Specifications: API CF-2/CF/SF

Has anyone seen a 10W-30 diesel oil as recommended by Iseki? Guess its all academic and I will stick with 15W-40 CI-4 diesel oil

Yes. My Kubota also recommends 10-30

I would say 3 litres .. and yep if Shell Rotella T5 was available here I would use it.
