Tractor
iseki compact
So I have bought an OLD ISEKI compact tractor of 'about 18hp' I think?!
It has 2wd, 3 manual forward gears and a reverse.
Upright exhaust, pto, 3 way linkage, front weights
throttle lever on the dash board
BUT
I have no idea what model it is..............
Any way of telling so that I can get a book and also I cant find any kind of parking brake?

Here's hoping someone out there can help!!??

Well the first thing you can do is post some pictures
here so we can see what it looks like. A picture
is worth a thousand words.

Yep, your pictures are huge. This one was 3263x2447, 543KB.

I resized to 600x800, 153KB and rotated.

Sorry, can't help identify.

I have a couple older Iseki owner's manuals, and they show a data plate near the shifter with the model number and tractor serial number. Looking at your zoomed in picture I cannot see one, but there may be something in that vicinity, perhaps painted over.

The data plate you photographed is the injection pump, and isn't specific to any one engine. Somewhere on the engine there will be an additional data plate or cast-in model, size, and serial number.

On most of these tractors, there is a stamped serial number plate with the model number somewhere on the transmission casting. Places I have seen them are in the area where your ankles would be if sitting in the seat, or on the bellhousing.

Some tractors have an additional tag, sometimes merely a sticker, on the fenders or wheels center sections.

If all else fails, that machine appears to have a distinctive body arrangement of the fenders behind the seat. It looks as if the fenders form a "tub" for the seating area, something that is fairly unusual in this vintage and size of machine. It appears to be original, and is likely a distinguishing trait for a series or particular model of tractor.

As an aside, I really like the motorcycle/atv muffler adapted onto the tractor!

Thanks 284

Its a TS2220, now all I need to establish is if it has a handbrake or not!

On similar Iseki machines the 'handbrake/parking brake' is a flat(ish) bar on the side of the gearbox with a pivot and spring and teeth that engage on a pin on the left foot brake. Depress the brake pedal and flip down the bar, to release depress the pedal and the spring should pop it up out of action although mine sometimes requires manual intervention!

here is one not fitted.

I think that with the newly downloaded manual and ESBkevin I may have sussed it, there appears to be a flat lever on the side that I haven't fiddled with yet!
