Default whats a 99 455 worth?

Hi all, one of the tractors I am considering is a 99 445, 54" mmm & JD40 loader. It is 2wd, gas, w 215 hrs in good shape. Also has turfs & new ags. It it worth 6k?

The 455 is a diesel. If what you are looking at is really a 455, and those hours are correct, and the 40 loader is included, it's a steal at $6K.

The other tractors in the line were the 425 (carburated gas) and the 445 (fuel injected gas). The 445 would be a good deal for $6K, the 425 a bit less so.

Duh yes you are correct it is a 445.

How many hrs could I epect out of that motor?

It would depend - the Kawasakis switched from a plastic cam gear to a metal one some time in 1999. Your dealer should be able to tell you which one this has. The plastic cams mostly broke at around the 700 hour mark. Even if the one you are looking at has plastic, it's not a huge problem, because when the plastic one fails you just replace it with metal and keep going - but it does cost to get it replaced, so you need to factor that into the price.

Other than that, I have heard of these Kawasakis going upwards of 2K hours, depending on maintenance, of course.

The 40 loader alone routinely goes for upwards of $2K.
