I am getting ready to purchase my first tractor. I have narrowed it down to either orange or green. I went to the JD dealer today and the salesman said they can't get enough 2305s. He has two that are already sold awaiting arrival and has a waiting list for the others that come in. Is this problem nationwide or just local? If the 2305 is that hard to get, then it is probably going to be hard to get a good deal on one. This problem may make my decision for me, as there are plenty of Kubotas.

Hiya,
My dealer had 2 out on the lot yesterday at one of his stores, may be local. Where abouts are you? Tom

In the past, I had to order both of the Deere tractors I bought (2520, 3320). I got the tractors within two weeks of ordering. I did have to wait a month on the 62d mowing deck when it first came out. My dealer told me it takes longer to get tractors in when they order them to sell, but they arrive quicker when they are already marked sold. JC

Good News! there is no Shortage of 2305's they are shipping on a weekly pool cycle. Along with the 200CX loaders. Your dealer could mark it retail sold but he is probably want some sort of concession from you beings if you back out he is stuck with a tractor he has to pay for in 30 days. We had it happen a couple times
Hope you pick Deere.![]()

Tom, I am in north Alabama. Maybe there's just a local rush since the weather is nice now. Roll tide, I am just a few miles from you in western Cullman county. Thanks for the info, shot gun, I will check with a few more dealers in the area. Although I would like to get one now, I can wait if necessary. JD has a few features I like that Kubota doesn't, but is also a little higher.

I did not realize you were that close. Go to Coker Tractor in Arab. They had two 2305's when I was there a couple weeks ago. My little boy loves playing on a 2305 with a backhoe on it. You will also get the best price in Arab. Just be sure to get the tractor you want first. It is cheaper to buy the right tractor size the first time around. If you have any plans on bush hogging, you might want to move up a size. JC

Thanks for the info Roll Tide. I will try to get up there this week to see what they have. One of the main reasons I am considering the 2305 is I think it will handle all I need to do with it in the forseeable future. I really have the fever for a tractor and I think I have the wife convinced we need one
. The special financing deals going on now have made me decide to try to get one now. I was originally planning to get one in the fall. |

Wow, RollTide, you weren't kidding. The quote I got from them was about $1300 less than the JD dealer in Cullman. They also said they have at least two or three. I think maybe the dealer in Huntsville was creating his own shortage by not ordering enough of them. Thanks for the info! |

Sounds like maybe he told you there was a shortage so he could charge you more when he got one...
