I appreciate the update. I am about 99% sure I am going to order a 2720 within the next few weeks. My dealer has pre-ordered three machines and might have one for me beforehand. If I decide to get this machine it will complete my ownership of all three compact frame machine sizes (small, medium x3 and large). This is a fact of which I am not necessarily proud. I would have kept my 3720, but simply could no longer justify keeping such an expensive machine that I could not safely use on 1/3 of my property, due to its size and weight. I have really missed not having a tractor, though, and cannot see myself being without one (as I have for almost two months). I have reservations about some features on the 2720, but feel it overall the right size for me and my current needs. Interestingly, when all this tractor buying started a few years ago, I went originally to make a deal on a 4115, but was politely talked into a larger machine. Now, some five years later, I have come full circle by looking at a machine the same physical size as my original intent. I really need the higher horsepower where I live and have been waiting to see if JD would finally come out with a high horsepower small framed machine. With its increased stability and lower COG I will now be able to access areas on my property previously inaccessable.

There was a recent thread by a gentleman looking for a Deere 955 replacement (didn't like his Kubota B7800).
This one looks pretty good for that. I see the 790 and 990 are now designated the 3005 and 4005, respectively.
