Default 3520 hydrolics for grapple/4 in one bucket

I asked a dealer to spec out a 4 in one bucket for the 3520, but he said it was not possible to configure and would have to be aftermarket. I specified just about every scv option there is so this surprised me. I would really like the ability to clamp stuff at the front end as I have 3 acres of wooded lot that I would like to keep clear and healthy. I figured a 4 in 1 bucket would do the job, but a grapple would work too - do they need the same hydrolics as a 4 in 1 or do they work with what is there for the standard bucket?

Has anyone added these hydrolics? If so at what cost?

No 3rd function from the factory. W.R Long makes a very "factory looking" 3rd function valve for the 3X20 series machines. It is an EH valve and the mounting is very smooth and leaves a nice clean "factory like" look after it is installed. Toggle switch is on the joystick ...the best kit by far that I have seen over the years in this business. Website below:

Good luck...

From my research thats not quite true...JD has the 3rd Function Lines for the 300cx loaders available and I believe they're meant for use with the rear SCV and come with all the lines & hoses to do as such.

I used a Fasse valve that comes as a kit on my 990. It is actually made for the 3000 and 4000 series tractors. They use a joystick control and it is pretty slick. From what I see a little less cumbersome than the wr long and I had no trouble fabbing for the 990. Worth a look in my opinion. I can get some pictures up if you are interested.

I run my millonzi grapple off the thrid scv. There's a kit for the loader lines to run from the front to the rear with qc's in the middle. It works great for me.

Yes...you can run them off the rear valve but in no way is that the "ideal" set-up if you use your grapple a lot. A Fasse valve works too but there is more motoin involved in that then a regular 3rd function EH rocker switch, plust the Fasse valve isn't nears as nice of a "finished" product as the W.R Long kit.

Thanks to TBN members I was informed about the JD kit called "Third Function Hydraulic Lines and Hoses" which is apparently has two codes:

9049: If you are adding as an option to a new loader/tractor
BW15630: If you are buying it to add onto your existing loader/tractor

I recently received and installed it on my JD 4520 without any difficulty. It does in fact come with most everything and is a slick solution if your want to run the grapple (a Millonzi LD48 in my case) or 4-n-1 off your rear remotes.

It costs about $300. I did buy some heavier zip-ties than what came with the kit. Also the kit's hardlines terminated with 1/4 inch FASTER brand QC's.... so I had to order adapters and one set of matching QC's to connect the grapple lines (1/2 inch male pipe thread) to the hard lines. Once these arrive I'll be ready to grapple.

Speaking of that...I also want to say JD Parts has a "Coupler Conversion Kit" which has everything you need to put the correct/normal couplers on it....why the kit ships with the other couplers is beyond me...
