So far so good with the turfs. I have been snowblowing the driveway in 2WD most of the time. I just got the ballast box yesterday, so I haven't had any weight on the back either. I do need to go to MFWD, if going into areas not cleared with the blower yet, most of the time. I also did some FEL work this fall before we put the blower on. It was very mucky and wet, and needed MFWD most of the time, but the turfs bit flawlessly.

The inside of the doors to the container I used to store my 4310 in until the house was built has "ROPS" and arrows pointing up in flourescent paint for just that reason - early on I forgot and couldn't figure out why forward progress stopped and the front end was lifting off the ground. :) Luckily I was going REAL slow as there was a set of storage shelfs down one side and the tractor barely fit. Wasn't too good for the sun shade frame either.

I was lucky in that the garage has 10' walls (and a cathedral ceiling that gives me 12' for the center 6' so I could install a 2-post Bend-Pak lift) so the roll-up door is just high enough to clear the ROPS. The sun shade attchment bracket just kisses the weatherstripping going in and out.

I also learned this lesson the hard way! I rented a PODS container to store my tractor at the property where we are building a home. The first day I had the tractor I tried to put the tractor in, but the front wheels were coming off the ground...I thought it was just the wood floor giving way or something, so I just gave it full power! At that time the entire roll up door peeled off and landed on my head. PODS had to come and pick it up and drop off a new one. Total charge $125 for that. Then I had to pay $408 to repair the POD since I had declinded the damage waiver.

Live and learn!

LOL same thing happened to me driving into the garden shed, couldn't figure out how come the tractor quit going forward and the front wheels were coming off the floor! Heard a cracking noise and knew right away what was going on. No damage though, just glad nobody was watching!!

Been blowing lately at 3000 RPM. Today's snow is wet, and I had no trouble throwing plenty clear of the driveway, which is the whole point. This blower really makes for a clean driveway.

Initially you stated that the blower just didn't seem to be throwing the snow very far but it does so now with the higer RPM. Does it throw it as far as the Cub Cadet? If not, you may still have a set up problem. In your picture taken from the front there is a clear view of the blower, and it appears that your augers are not set up correctly. They seem to be out of phase. That is, the augers should meet in the middle at the gear box. I looks like they are not.

I could be wrong because I don't have the same blower, but I did have a simiar problem with my three point hitch blower. It wouldn't throw snow very far and it would clog up with wet heavy snow. It turns out that when I busted a shear pin on one side (last year) I replaced it with the augers "out of phase". I didn't notice it until I was servicing it this year getting it ready for the season. I just popped out the shear pin (bolt) rotated the auger 180 degrees, and replaced the shear pin. Now it works great, it throws snow farther, and it didn't clog up with wet snow. Last year I attributed these problems with wet heavy snow.

One thing to remember is that my 3PH blower only operates at the rear PTO 540 rpm, the mid PTO operates at 2100 rpm (rated) so you may be able to overcoming your auger "problem" with rpm.

Indeed now that our snow isn't so wet, it is throwing it further than the Cub. It blows the fluffy stuff an amazing distance, especially when I'm blowing with the wind. I had the dealer out to adjust the chute rotation. It was uneven in its total angle of travel. I had also had three of the six bolts that hold the chute on, shear off. The dealer replaced all of them with what seemed to be a better grade bolt. They said they had never seen anything like that, especially on a brand new blower. New Year's Day we had some very wet snow, and it handled it fine. So, the rpm increase definitely helped. Also, the augers seem to be operating in balance with each other. The dealer checked everything, and I was there, so it seemed fine to me. Thanks
