I don't think you can say the 2305 is better than the BX24. Maybe you can I won't. I can give you the reasons I spent more for the John Deere than I would have for the Kubota and then you need to decide which ones are credible or you agree with and which ones are not. I don't believe I can classify any of my reasons as technical (no specifications here) see how you feel after you buy. As a disclaimer I really tried to like the Kubota. I went to visit them numerous times. The sales people were great. I had / have a bias because of growing up with an old John Deere B. I felt I needed to be conscious of this bias and make a decision based on facts and which one I liked better some 40 years later. Here are my reasons for my decision. The FEL looked heavier, has a detachable bucket and better fit and finish. I liked the FEL control better on the Deere. The joy stick sits closer and as I remember lower and it just felt better. FEL removal (a weekly chore for me) seems so much easier. The forward /reverse pedals felt better on the Deere. The angle of the seat looked weird to me on the BX and I think I slid forward because of it. Hard to remember now. Seat belt on no sliding no problem. I am not really happy with the Deere seat and the way it rotates (yes I have a backhoe and love it) but it works. The ROPS did not last two weeks before I replaced it with a folding one but that was a garage limitation. Did I buy the 2305 because it was Green ? maybe but I tried to take that out of the picture. I am sure happy with what I have. I really don't think you can go wrong with either one. One thing to consider is look at the next model up and see if it is right for you.

Gotta agree with mred - there is no technical difference between the two. They will both last you a lifetime, have great support, and are fun to use. The 'specs' for each are identical, not enough difference to make a tangible difference. Our personal decisions have nothing to do with your personal decision. That said, I liked the fit and finish on the 2305 a little better than the BX - but not enough to make purchase decision. Since the prices were equal, my decision came to my wife's preference for a green machine next to her green sided house. (They are not the same shade of green, though...)

Not too much technical about that!

This is one of those unending discussions that you find on just about any tractor forum. For me it was the seat on the BX 24 that turned me off. I now understand that Kubota offers a better seat. If I did not own a 2305 then it would have been the BX. Both are great tractors.

I have and love a BX24, but I would personally lean towards the Deere (although I think Kubota has a much cleaner BH mounting system) simply because the tilt on the FEL has two cylinders. If you ever think you may want a quick connect FEL bucket or forks, go with the Deere because the center mount on the Kubota does not lend itself to this system.

One other thing .... Buy one used. I have seen a bunch of nearly new tractors go for thousands less on eBay etc because of the poor economy
