Default Bucket wagging

I have a 23 yr old JD 750. Its worked hard all its life. After I dump a load out of the bucket, it wags on its pins like it isn't connected to the cylinders. It also takes a while to respond to full dump position after the load is out and I'm trying to clear the last material out of the bucket. Does this signify some type of cylinder failure?

Well, I'm more than double the age of your 750 and I "wag on my pins, too"!

I'd guess that you've got some pin slop. Especially if the bucket clanks on the dump as well as the tilt back. The cylinders might be a bit tired, too. If you've got some leakin' and drips - that's a good indicator that a cylinder rebuild is in order -- IMO.

Your main hydraulic pump could be gettin' a little slow on the go, too. How's the steering response (I can't remember if the steering is separate from the implement pump) and the 3pt lift response? Are they a bit slow to respond, too? If so, then a rebuilt pump could be just what yur trusty 750 needs as well.

Best of luck.
