Default HST Question

Is it normal for the HST pedal to become harder to push further down as forward motion resistance becomes greater?

Yes I'm new to HST.

Yes, I call it "feedback". That is one thing I do NOT like about the E-Hydro's.

First of all, I'm not sure I've ever noticed this effect on my 2520 or my old 755 either. I've never driven a 2320 though, and am not sure what all parts they share with the 2520.

That said, I'm not sure what this has to do with "E-hydro". As far as I know the 2320,2520,4110, and my old 755 (all small framed Deere tractors) have just a basic mechanical based hydro system. Currently, only the 3000's and 4000's can be had with E-hydro. I once rented a older 4210 for a weekend, which I think was also E-hydro. Still, I don't remember the pedal feedback effect being described.

I never noticed this before, but since you asked the question, I paid attention to mine. Yes there is more resistance especially when I have it in high range. If I start out in high, the resistance is there until the tractor starts moving, then it diminishes as she goes faster. If I start up a hill in high range, as the tractor slows down, I can feel the resistance return. I don't notice this at all while in low range. Its probable there, just not as noticeable.

Drive the FEL into a hard pile of dirt, the harder the tractor pushes into the pile the harder it is to press the pedal 吐urther down.

Gizmo,

Yeah it's normal. Kenny is 100% correct. For many, feedback is a positive aspect of owning a mechancal hydro connection. I like knowing how hard I'm working the transmission.

While I own both....I'll be the first to say that I prefer the eHydro....silky smooth operation. As far as feedback, I get just as much, if not more feedback thru the sounds the machine is making...even the "mechanical hydro"...
Biggest dislike about mechanical hydro is the fact as they get older they "creep"...I'm not worried about that happening on my eHydro machine.

As an attentive operator, you are noticing that little nuance. I didn't notice it until I went to an Ehydro, and then noticed it was missing! Being a hydro connoisseur myself, my preference by far is the creamy goodness of fly by wire. I'll take a good Ehydro with a slightly chilled Chianti and a side of farva beans any day.
