One of the guys I work with has a 655 JD with mfwd. He has been searching for an original model 51 or 60 loader to no avail. He is thinking of buying a 200X or 200CX loader then fabricating the mounting brackets. The tractor already has the factory hydraulic selective control valve for the loader. If a 200 series loader will physically fit a 655 he is quite capable of making the mounting brackets. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd guess that I'd approach this by researching the dimensions of the 655 (length, width and distance from mounting holes to front of tractor) and comparing that to the 200 series JD's (2305, 2320, 2520, 2720). Might be able to put the tape on one of those machines on the dealer's lot.
Then I'd review the specs for the Model 51-60 FEL and compare those to the 200x and 200cx. You might find that if the 200 series FEL will bolt up -- it might have too much capacity for the 655. Hydraulic flow and pressure needed for the 200 FEL might be greater than the 655 generates, etc. Additionally, I'd want to know if the working limits for the 200 FEL might be too much for the front end, frame, etc of the 655. My $0.02 Best of luck. AKfish |

There are several brands of aftermarket loaders out there. Has he checked into any of them? JC
