After a couple of weeks refurbishing an old 6 ft Meyers snowplow, and a weekend fabricating a Quick-Hitch adapter for my 2520, I'm finally ready for winter.
Adapting the Meyers plow allows me to fully cover the tire width when plowing. There were no modifications to the factory Quick-Hitch/hydraulic system. The Meyers plow now operates as any other JD Quick-Tatch attachment. While I only have 14" lift above ground, as opposed to an fel mount, the blade is several feet closer to the tractor. Nice for tight situations.
I think this adapter would work on any 2000 series JD, as long as the plow size is kept to a reasonable width.

I weighed the plow with adapter at 225lbs, 120lbs more than the JD set-up. I don't have loaded tires, but if the RB84 snowblade isn't on the back, then the loaded ballast box will be.
I took it down the road a-bit last night, and didn't notice any change in balance or handling. I did notice that my headlights are now blocked, especially when the plow is up. I'm gonna get the extra forward lights like you see on Shawks tractor in his gallery.

Gunmake, what year is that one 72?? I graduated with a kid back in 75 that had one. I think he was a 72 SS with a 396. When he stepped on it you were locked in the seat.

72 Murph... 350sb, muncie 4-spd, 10bolt/posi, custom w/buckets. I found her in a barn this spring where she had been stored since the summer of 77. She has 34k original miles, and almost 100% rust-free.
