JD 24T hit and miss knotters
I have a JD 24T baler. It has seen better days and has some wear and tear.
Sometimes knot gets caught by bill hook and breaks twine (both sides). Twine is being cut by knife about 1 inch from knot.
Twine pull set to manual specs
Reduced bail weight (2 crank handles in back)
Bill hook pressure arm set at about 12lbs (5-15lbs pull per manual) Reduced pull pressure to about 8 lbs, no effect knot still gets caught.
Bill hook wiper seems to be in contact full length if bill hook
Knife arm roller has no flat spots and rolls
Shimmed knife arm up and down but still has some play left/right.
I know from working on old cars what's in the manual may not be what the engine needs to set to for it to run right (the good old days).
Anyone have any ideas. Please help.
