JD ag dozer blade model 534

There will be one at auction next week. 8' wide was on a JD 4020 Ag tractor.
Anyone have any experience with these? I know I would have to adapt it to my JD 6415 MFWD. Tractor size and power should not be a problem if a JD 4020 could handle it.

Tx Jim, Are you thinking that would be too much for my 6415?

I have not weighed it yet, but hope to. It's open station. JD brochure gave weight of 8130lbs. Rear tires are loaded, but I do not know how much weight that adds.

I was thinking MFWD would make up for lack weight and HP of the 4020.

I agree that MFWD would give additional traction over 2WD. IIRC the frt mount blades are fairly heavy although I don't remember any weights. I just had the same discussion on another tractor forum of 4020 vs 6100. Nebraska tests back up my statement even though a poster thought the 4020 was over weighted in test results. Needless to say the 4020 pulled substantially more weight than the 6100.

Back in my SD days; the neighbor used a "Heavy" front blade on his 4020 to push and pack corn silage.

He had dual rear wheels on the 4020. Although, I don't know if they were all filled or if the inside wheels were loaded.

It had a very substantial mounting frame that stayed on the tractor all the time. He dropped the blade during the summer months and hooked it up at harvest season and thru the winter for snow.

I am going to say no it wont fit.

The 534 will fit 4020 to 4440.

I dont know the 6415 but the 534 subframe connects to the front of the drawbar uner the transmission.

There is a black adaptor braket. Ours came with 3 different brakets. I think it took a different braket for the 4320 to the 4440.

My guess is the problem would be mountong the frame to the 6415 drawbar.

There is also a wrap around frame that mounts around the engine.

Is the width of the front of the 6415 the same as a 4020?
The mountings on the frame were the same for the 4020 to the 4440. I bet the 6415 is different.

That all said, i love the blade on the 4320. its the best thing i have for snow. The weight balanve is great. We took the 726 loader off the 4320 and put it on the 4440. Way to big of a loader for the 4320. pick up a load of snow and there was no weight on the rear tires.

The 534 blades weakness is the cylinders. Theyre weak and poorly made. We put aftermarket cylinders back on it this wonter. They are 1 inch shorter but that didnt make a difference. Also they blade is sprung but still a good snow blade.

The guy who helped me put it back together also said it will likely not fit. he is a jd parts man.

U have to take the front weights off for this blade.

This loader was terrible on this tractor, but the blade makes it feel like there is horsepower to push.

The blade doesn't really take weight off the rear axle like you would think. Maybe it's because your're pushing from the front end of the drawbar.

The pictures really help. It looks like the rear mounts to the front of the draw bar. Then there are brackets the bolt to the sides for the tractor at the front where the front end guard mounts then to the uprights for the cylinders. am thinkng I would only need a way to connect to the draw bar, then frabricate brackets for the front.
