Tractor
Many but mostly ford diesels or ihc or jds
I have a John deere 300 industrial. The lift is strong but slow. The guy I bought it from put new springs on the rock shaft and all the fluids and filters. Could it need a new pump or is there a valve somewhere that may be stuck open? He said something about a valve that you have to split the tractor to get too is this true he said it maybe stuck open.

I bet the problem is the orange filter in the photo:laughing: Seriously I wonder if PO checked/cleaned trans/hyd sump screen and small filter in frt hyd pump?? I also recommend checking stand-by pressure(2250-2350 psi). It's possible the hyd filter relief valve could be the problem. Does tractor have the option of hyd hi-lo or reverser??

That's a nice looking industrial tractor. Depending on tractor SN hyd pump filter is parts key # 56 in 1st photo or parts key #17 in 2nd photo.

The RS control valve seals on JD utility tractors have a history of wearing out then leaking causing hyd problems. If PO renewed o-rings everything in there should be fine. BUT for grins remove hyd filler cap on the rear and with 3 pt raised, engine running look inside hole for spraying oil. No spraying oil then the RS control valve should be GOOD.
