    The steering wheel trick doesn't help starting as much on later models tractor because of the change in the type steering valve to the metering pump type steering. This change happened about mid production on the 30 series(4230/4430/4630). My 4255 will start fine in sub-freezing temps without the steering wheel trick,ether or block heater.

    It helps on every rowcrop 40 series i have ever been on.
