Open center 2040 hydraulic noise
When I first crank up my '76 2040 before it warms up, the hydraulics squeal when I lift the three point hitch. Once it warms up a bit the squeal goes away and the hitch is silent. I've already replaced the fluid and filters/screen, and it still does it. Is it anything to be concerned about or is it normal?

Re: Open center 2040 hydraulic noise
I wouldn't worry about the noise. The hyd oil has probably leaked back to sump while not running and when the oil gets replenished and the noise you hear is a hyd valve closing.

Good deal, I'm just wanting to make sure everything is good to go with this tractor before I put a loader on it. Thanks for the help Tx Jim
