Info on JD 7200 tractor

Looking to buy a 7200 and am having trouble finding out much info on the 5.9 liter motor. Has anyone owned a 7200 or can give me any info about this tractor? Any info is appreciated.

I think the 7200 actually had a 6.8 liter engine. The 5.9 liter or 359 cu in engines were used in earlier models like 2955, and 3155. The 6.8 liter is still used in current models and is an excellent engine. They were good tractors. They were still pretty simple tractors with minimal electronics. Is it cab?, powerquad?, MFWD? How many hours?

The 5.9L engine is a good engine used in many JD units. The engine is known as being as the 300 series engines. What type trans does this 7200 have? The powershifts had a history of some shifting problems. My neighbor traded one off because of the problems.

Thanks for the info Jim. I'll have to find out what transmission it has as I posted these questions for a friend as he was worried that there weren't many made according to the serial numbers. I'll let you know as soon as I find out.

TxJim is right it does have a 5.9 liter engine. I was thinking the beginning of 7xxx series was when the 6.8 liter began. Either way, both engines have been great. the 6.8 was designed around the 5.9.
