My tilt steering wheel wont stay in one place. Is the gas cylinder replaceable? If so where can I find one?

Not to sure what a servicable kit contains as I could find no breakdown picture. Would this be like a carb kit? Am I getting into a repair that I may not be able to finish? $211.00 is a bit high for a surprise package.

Having been employed for over 21 yrs back in the mid 60's through late 80's by a JD Dealer gives me an advantage looking up JD parts over a lot of folks.

any suggestion how to get the pins out of the piston holder . Mine wont budge either top [ allen wrench ] or bottom pin . i was hesitant to bring the heat . thanks

If loctite was used sometimes heat is required to loosen screw.

they must have used it as i had to create a breaker bar out of a draw pin and my 200 lbs . I could not get the bottom pin w/o cutting it out and using a sledge and punch . Thank you
