Got our first one in yesterday. Bascially same frame size as the 3203. 3-cylinder, 1.5L, 40.4hp Yanmar Diesel. 2-range hydrostatic just like the 3203. Same "lay-out" as the 3203. Deere recommends the 300CX loader.

This machine is basically taking the place of the 990 and the price has not increased at all...which is great considering all the "upgrades" you are getting. Thought you guys might like to see this, enjoy!

Would you happen to know what the 790 will be replaced with and the cost of one with MFWD and with what upgrades. Thanks....Ricky T.

That's the same frame size as the 3203? Looks more like a large chassis CUT than a medium one.

The 4105 is not the replacement for the 990... The 4105 is a "new" hydrostatic (non eHydro) large frame CUT. It is based on, and is very similar to the 3203 - and it does take the 300CX loader.

The replacements for the 790 and 990 will be the 3005 and the 4005. Interim Tier 4 engines, as well as new decals will be the only changes on these tractors. Deere is changing the model numbers so that they are more in line with the rest of the lineup.

Well there ya go, I stand corrected! However, all things being equal (such as price) not many people would buy a 990 over this.

"John Deere LX178 Lawn Tractor w/Mower, Snowblower & Plow - I know it is not a CUT, but I only have 1/2 acre! :D"

i only have 1.25 ac to mow but we get snow and I want to do mowin' and plowin' fast! :D

Gamble and BleedGreen,

I had seen this in the little show book that my dealer brought back for me to peruse. I like the looks of the tractor. It seems as though it will be pretty powerful for its size, as it appears to be on a 3000 series frame size but with the larger 4000 series running gear. My question is: Do they feel this will sell well???? The 3203's in my area are not very popular. Most going in this size are either going 3120 or 3320. Is the pricing going to be favorable enough to lure potential 4120 customers??

I think it will sell better than the 990. To step up from this into say a 4120 you are looking at another 4K...I think that alone will steer people towards this. I believe this will sell much better than the 3203.
