Default blower/blade combo a deal?

Hello, was hoping someone out there can shed some light on Bolens snowblowers. I found a 50" bolens blower/ 54" blade/ quick hitch combo for $895.oo , the bolens blower is converted to fit a 2210. I know nothing about Bolens so I question whether the rpm's would be okay and how durable the machine would be? the 54" blade has manual angle. A tempting price and I don't think Id use the blower much anyways.

I can't comment on the blower, but the angle kit for the blade will cost you about $200, so if you don't want the blower-I would just get the new setup from JD.
Is there a chance you can see the blower operate?

I thought a combo deal sounded good as we have been getting those heavy snow dumps in March and I typically run out of places to stack the stuff. I am leaning towards the new blade setup for $1150. the combo I speak of is 200 miles from where I live is why I hesitate. Just seeking opinions...

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that if someone converted the blower to work on their Deere, they probably did the math and the blower will run as it should. I know if i adapted something to work on my tractor, it would be correct. Of course, this is just an assumption. I switched fron a rear blower to a front this year, and for me its the best change i've made. You sure wouldn't want to fork out the money for a new Deere blower. A hydraulic angle blade would also be great for storms under six inches. Bolens stuff is generally pretty decent, and you would probably find that an outside vendor built the attachments for Bolens...... no different than they do for JD. If it were me, i'd take a look at em...... especially if the price is a little negotiable!

P.S. I just took another look at the pic of that blower. It looks ALOT like the 2650 front blower on my Kubota...... i'd bet you a buck they were made by the same company !

well now you mention it that does look like that weird blue-ish color Kubota uses... but seriously I looked at Kubota website (don't tell anyone) and found what appears to be an identical snowblower painted that funny orange color...

If this is the blower ( below attachment) then it's one heavy bugger!

I feel like I'm posting to myself but found yet another example of this blower.
Was this maybe before deere started making their own 47" blower?? this one is off an older 400 series deere...

Certainly looks to be the same manufacturer. The front blowers on the small New Hollands look the same also. The closest rear blower i've seen to these is the Blizzard (corkscrew style chute rotator). Maybe Blizzard manufactures them? In any event, i still wouldn't let the fact that they came off a Bolens be the only factor that steered me away from the deal for that kind of money. I just sold my old BWM brand rear blower for $700..... so both pieces for similar money doesn't sound bad to me. I assure you..... you'll love having a front blower. Whomever manufactures that blower.... doesn't look like they've changed substantially in quite awhile, so i would think parts will be no big problem.

How much weight do I put on; "the dealer says the previous owner says.."? According to this the blower throws 25 feet or better which sounds about right for a two stage. I am thinking as you that this may be too good a deal not to look at and plan to call the dealer after xmas and see if he can arrange a demo so I can see this for myself. as for hyd angle on the blade we'll have to dicker some for the angle kit and some wheel weights. I need wheel weights for the FEL anyways and from my research it appears this blower is a heavy mother at 280lbs plus the quick hitch.
