You might be expecting a little too much--dealer won't want to compete with themselves--what does a similar 2305 sell for? They need to sell those to, and if a new one is "only" 1 or 2K more than a used one why would a buyer go for the used one (financing, warranty etc)? Selling it yourself you don't need to worry about making a profit, and the complete package would also be worth more to someone looking to get into this category machine. I would at least list it as a full package for what you want to get out of it (knowing what the dealer has offered) and see what kind of response you get. Good Luck!

A new 2305 setup like mine lists for $15,587 according to the JD configurator. Add $200 for the bar tires/wheels, maybe another $100 for the x series seat and $113 for the folding rops for a grand total of $16,000.

If you can work a deal for 10% off you're at $14,400. Almost double what I was offered on trade.....

Based on the values I see in machine finder, I believe my 2210 as equipped would list for $11K or so. If I decide to list it myself I'll probably start at around $10K.

Call me crazy if you wish....I've got nothing to lose and have my 355 as a backup in case the 2210 sells faster than planned.

Also for sale is a 16 car hauler trailer that can be used to transport the tractor and its implements around. The trailer can be purchased for an additional $1650.

Looks like you would have a very competitive offering--maybe even sell yours first! Nice to have a backup in the 355.

Thanks again to all responders, lots of good info.

Dealer came by and looked at my 2210. I guess I had my hopes set too high because his offer of $7500 didn't resonate real well with me. My 2210 has 250 hours, 210 loader, 62C deck, femco folding rops, x series suspension/seat, rear worklight and block heater. Oh and two sets of wheels/tires, turfs and bars. :)

Try to sell it outright or perhaps you do a consignment deal with them.

My dealer took a 2210 in trade wiht laoder, deck and a tiller - they paid $8500 I think for it. I will ask what they got for it. I would not get totally hung up on the trade in - see what the final numbers are and shop it.

That ad means nothing - it didn't sell.

Look on ebay and do a search for sold items. Advanced search will show them.

Looking at completed and selling 2210s on line I bet you can get $9500-$10K for it.

Sell the extra wheels and tires separate - net another $350-400 or so.

All - thanks for listing the other 2210 prices.

I did the ebay sold item search - good suggestion. I found these 2210's all with 210 loader and 62C:

300 hours....sold at $9600 by private seller

91 hours...sold at $9625 by dealer

131 hours...54C not 62C...NOT SOLD at $8300...Buy It Now price set at $12,500 (wow).

I'm at 250 hours...and my 2210 has quite a few extras these don't...so I'm still thinking a starting price of $10K is in the ballpark.

Thanks again, I love TBN, our collective intelligence is second to none!

Hi Fred we are going through the same process of only having one tractor/mower. Going from the Deere to the Kubota line up back and forth mainly due to the b series 3 speed hydro. I was set on the JD 790. Now I have to do some thinkin. However, my wife is flinchin, it's just starting but I see it coming. If it gets bad does your wife have any sisters?:D
