what is a 5400? theres one going to be sold at an auction next saturday. anyone know the hp, maybe the years it was made?? according to the paper, this one has @890 hours on it.

The 5400 was the first of the 5000 series. ie 5400, 5410, 5420. One difference on the 5400 is that it is a 3cyl turbo instead of the 4cyl non turbo on the 5410 and 5420. I think the 5400 came out around 88-90 and ran till maybe 95 or 96 when the 5410 came out. Give or take a a couple years.

i looked over this information last night, sure seems to be a big price spread at those auctions. i guess it all depends on the crowd. the serial number of the one at this saturdays auction is LVSG057001720, that doesn't tell me if its 4wd or what year, but it has a 520 fel. and a cab, so it will probably go pretty high.

Is there anyplace to look up specs on balers? I was looking at the last model that deere put out but cna't find the specs on them. I really wanted to know what the 546 and 535 specs were.
