Looking at a '89 JD 750 with 799 hours on it. It has a 60" finish mower
and a JD 67 loader. Second owner machine. Apparently it sat a lot.

First owner had record of service from '01. Not sure of the maintenance
history after that except the machine was serviced by the dealer before
the second owner purchased it this year.

Haven't seen it first hand, it's over three hours away. Anything I should
look for?

The asking price is $8,200.

Depends on the condition.

I have a 1989 (or probably sold as a 1990) model 770 which would be only be a newer model number of the same tractor. Basically same as the current model 3005.

I would say that if the paint was perfect, tires like new, no leaks and obvious signs of care and maintenance then the price would be fair. I bought mine for $7500 with quite a few implements, but that was about 5 years ago.

I would say that is high, if it had a hoe different story. Remember it is still 20 years old, some parts are NOT available for these tractors.

You need to go to the Buying / Pricing / Comparison Forum........and review the thread for "Checklist for Diesels".....It was very informing. If I had an idea of how to link you there I would.....I am computer challenged.

I would recommend driving it and putting it through some paces.....if the current owner seems skittish.....beware.

JD 770 / 70 FEL / 7 BH - 425 AWS / 54" MMM / 54" FMP

Remember it's not old and young.....it's older and younger.
